I just finished watching the latest DC Universe Animated Movie, "Batman Vs. Robin." If you don't want any spoilers, please stop reading now.

Okay then, I think the film was better than "Son of Batman," but that honestly does not say much. The animation was still inconsistent and sloppy. Some of it was good an action-packed, while some of it was slow and stilted.I find it especially jarring, since the animation in previous DCUA films are usually better and of higher quality than in this and "Son of Batman."

Some of the things I liked in the movie were the villains, the Court of Owls. I really liked the Court from the New 52 storyline they were introduced from and I liked the elements they included like Batman's labyrinth hallucination, the fight with Batman's Thrasher mech suit, and even a shout-out to Damian's possible future as a darker Batman. I also really liked when Nightwing was on the phone with someone named "Kory," as in Koriand'r AKA Starfire. I also liked the voicework, especially hearing Batman fan favorite Kevin Conroy playing Bruce's dad Thomas. What I found really jarring was hearing "Weird Al" Yankovic himself voice the villain known as "The Dollmaker." He was so creepy, I didn't even recognize Weird Al in the role.

Some things I didn't like was how they adapted the Court of Owls storyline into a story of Batman and Robin having a feud with each other, when originally, that never happened. Personally, if this story had to focus on Batman and Robin, the focus should have been put between Batman and Nightwing, since in the original comic, Nightwing's grandfather was an original member of the Court of Owls, making Nightwing an heir. I also REALLY didn't like how it was implied that Dick and Damian were apparently the only people to ever inherit the role of Robin. We don't even get a single nod or reference to Jason Todd, Tim Drake, or even Stephanie Brown. Heck, we don't even get a mention of Barbara Gordon as a partner to the Bat Family.

I have some other minor grievances with the film such as it being VERY cliche that the underdeveloped girlfriend that Bruce was dating turned out to be the Grandmaster of the Court of Owls, a young Bruce Wayne being so obsessed with thinking that his family was killed by the Court that he would kill an owl with a bow and arrow just out of spite, and that Talon, the last surviving member of the Court, would literally force Damian's hand to stab Talon in the throat just to make it seem like Damian seem like he killed Talon.

So while "Batman Vs. Robin" was slightly better than "Son of Batman," it was still just as mediocre.
